MANSFIELD, Ohio – October 15, 2007 – With a goal of increasing support and furthering their commitment to Richland and Crawford Counties, the FirstMerit Bank recently appointed Glenn W. McClelland to Community Executive and Corporate Banking Team Leader.

As community executive, McClelland will have local decision-making power for the seven bank offices in Richland and Crawford Counties, and the backing of all of FirstMerit’s corporate resources. FirstMerit views Richland and Crawford Counties as model communities based on size, commitment to economic development, and growing number of owner-managed businesses.

McClelland joins FirstMerit with more than 28 years experience in banking. He recently served as President of the Mansfield and Ashland areas of Huntington National Bank. He is a board member and current Chairman of the Richland Economic Development Corporation, a board member and past president of Braintree business incubator, a board member and President of North Central State College Foundation, a board member of MedCentral College of Nursing and a member of Mansfield Rotary.

He received his master’s degree from Ashland University and bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University. He and his family reside in Lexington, Ohio.
